END OF SEASON RECAP FOR 2021

A GREAT SEASON ENDS FOR CORN BELT SUMMER COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE

The 2021 Corn Belt Collegiate Summer Baseball League ended another successful season with intense competition and development with the expansion of seven teams in the league battling it out to become league and end of the season tournament champions. Managed by the Strike Zone, The Corn Belt League has come to be known as one of the nation’s premier collegiate summer developmental baseball leagues with over 180 athletes playing in the league. With over 80 colleges/universities being represented by these players, the competition was intense and enjoyed by all.

The goal of the league is to provide players the opportunity to develop their skills while playing against high quality teams. Coming from all over the country, players get to see the level of play expected across the nation and what they need to do to play at that level. Friendships are formed, techniques are learned and great baseball is had by all.

The league ensures professional coaching, indoor training facilities and provide players with housing and employment opportunities/internships as needed throughout the season. The league aims to help players prepare both mentally and physically and send them back to their schools more prepared to take on challenges.

One great aspect is the league’s host family program. For those players coming to Omaha and needing a place to stay, the league provides host families that invite players into their home for two months. Having the opportunity to meet families and be apart of them is a rewarding experience for all. For young players in the home, the chance to learn the work ethic it takes to be a student athlete is something that they can take with them as they grow up through the ranks of the game. For the college player being hosted, it provides a great support system as they play in the league away from home. Now that the season is completed, players will return to their respective schools.

These players leave behind good memories on and off the field. Relationships are formed that can last a life time. For more information on how you can be a part of our 2022 League Expansion and/or to be a host family, please contact Teri@mvp4Life.org

The Omaha Filthballers claimed the regular season title as well as tournament champions under 3rd year Head Coach, Johnston Hobbs and Assistant Coaches Dan Babe, Jared Jones and Brendan Anderson and worked their way to the Tournament Championship Game and became champions of that as well.
